March brought a lot of exciting moments. On a personal level, my sons turned two and six, meaning my babies are growing up. I read quite a few books (which I’ll talk about in my wrap-up). And I launched my business! I’ll have a post dedicated to this with more information, but I spent most of my time working on the website and documents, which is why this hobby was a little neglected.
I wasn’t able to finish my self-study challenge in March, so I am still in the middle of Dreyer’s English. I am really enjoying it so far, and he makes grammar very approachable. I’m continuing with the Grisha trilogy, and I find they are quick reads for me, so it’s a nice palette cleanser.
- Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
- Gates of Stone by Angus Macallan
- Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James
With these three massive fantasy tomes on my TBR, I’m not sure what else I’ll be able to tackle. As much as I wanted to continue rereading The Two Towers, I have to admit that rereading is not a priority right now. I’ve got a lot on my plate and too many other good books to get to.
- Write daily.
This month’s focus will be on getting my professional name out there. I’ll be spending lots of time pushing myself and my brand, and hopefully getting some new clients. In addition to all the writing I’ll be doing for the business, I hope to tackle some more creative writing. The goal is a simple five minutes a day, just to set the habit.
While my love of books and talking about what I’m reading has not dwindled, my focus has been pulled away. I’ve been swamped with this new endeavor, and I am excited to see where it leads.
What are you currently reading? What are your goals and books for April? I’d love to chat about them!
